‘Outstanding’ Ofsted for Avanti House Secondary, previously ranked as one of the world’s best schools

Avanti House Secondary School, a state-funded Hindu-faith secondary school in Stanmore, celebrates “Outstanding” judgements in all areas following its latest Ofsted inspection.

The school, which last year was ranked as a Top 3 Finalist in the World’s Best School Award, was given the judgement following the inspection on 10th June 2025

Ofsted inspectors found: “There is a palpable love of learning. Pupils are tenacious in the face of challenge. Their commitment to their learning is unwavering. Pupils perform exceptionally well, in their work across subjects, and in national assessments at the end of their time at school.”

They added: “The curriculum pupils learn is ambitious, engaging and extends beyond what is expected nationally.”

“The Avanti House community is immensely proud to have received recognition from our Ofsted inspection that the school is developing spiritually compassionate changemakers,” said Principal Simon Arnell.

“This is our purpose as a school. The foundations of The Avanti Way — in relation to our virtues and beliefs — could be seen throughout the inspection. These values are lived by our families, students and staff and it is that reflection which is the most important element and one which is key to outstanding judgments.”

In a double celebration, Avanti House Primary School maintained its ‘Good’ judgment in an ungraded (section 8) inspection on 20th May 2025. The evidence gathered suggests that the inspection grade might be outstanding if a graded (section 5) inspection were carried out now.

Dr James Biddulph MBE, incoming CEO Ƶ said: “I am delighted with the excellent Ofsted result for Avanti House School. This is down to the commitment of our educators, teachers and support teams, great administrators, and site teams, empowered by deeply inspired leaders. These results are a testament to their commitment to provide an exceptional educational journey for every child, inspiring spiritually compassionate changemakers.”
